Description
Im Repertorium werden die Handschriften sämtlicher überlieferter Goethe-Briefe (Ausfertigungen) nachgewiesen, von denen etwa 5000 in den Beständen des Goethe- und Schiller-Archivs und etwa ebensoviele weltweit verstreut in Archiven, Bibliotheken oder bei Privatbesitzern aufbewahrt werden. Damit ist der gesamte derzeit bekannte Streubesitz einschließlich der größeren Sammlungen erfaßt. Verzeichnet sind außerdem die im GSA und an anderen Orten überlieferten Schemata und Konzepthandschriften sowie die für die Überlieferung relevanten Abschriften. Nach Sichtung der Bestände des GSA sowie sämtlicher Kopien läßt sich feststellen, daß schätzungsweise zu etwa 60% der überlieferten Briefe Goethes der derzeitige Aufbewahrungsort der behändigten Ausfertigung bekannt ist. Die Handschriftenbestände des Goethe- und Schiller-Archivs, des Freien Deutschen Hochstifts/Frankfurter Goethe-Museum, des Düsseldorfer Goethe-Museums und der Universitätsbibliothek in Bonn wurden größtenteils nach Autopsie verzeichnet,die übrigen nach Kopien. Als Teil der Mitteilungen zur Überlieferung der Briefe enthält das Repertorium Angaben zur Druckgeschichte. Sie ist derzeit zu etwa 80% der Briefe aufgearbeitet und soll nach und nach komplettiert werden. Mit dem Repertorium der Goethe-Briefe werden die Standortangaben der Briefabteilung der Weimarer Ausgabe erstmals seit deren Erscheinen umfassend erneuert und ergänzt. Eingearbeitet sind auch neuere Ergebnisse zur Datierung undatierter oder unvollständig datierter Briefe.

This DARIAH-DE service only functions with activated JavaScript!
